As of July 2011 I have joined the IT University of Copenhagen. I am an assistant professor in the Design, Culture, Mobility and Communication group. I maintain a page related to ITU activities.

Prior to joining ITU, I was a post-doc at ABB in Oslo, Norway. There, I investigated the opportunity for ubiquitous computing in the oil and gas sector as well as telerobotics.

My general field is interaction design and human-computer interaction. That's a big tent, and I find a lot of things interesting within that including ubiquitous computing, ambient visualisation, persuasive technology, computer-supported cooperative work, robotics and socio-technical systems. I’m particularly focused on the social dimension of technology and how we design technology that bridges the gaps between established systems, practices and people. I take a qualitative, exploratory approach and like to straddle the technical, social and design perspectives of the field.
